What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep, so that the site can recognise the same browser on the next request. Related technologies — local storage and session storage — do much the same thing, and are covered here too.
What this site uses
Very little, and none of it follows you anywhere.

What this site does not use
There are no advertising cookies on this site, no analytics or measurement scripts, no social media pixels, and nothing that builds a profile of you or follows you to other websites. We do not sell or share browsing data, because we do not collect it.
Content loaded from elsewhere
To keep pages fast, some standard building blocks — the stylesheet framework and the icon set — are loaded from public content delivery networks rather than from our own server. Those providers receive the address of the device requesting the file, as any web server does. They set no cookies on this site and receive nothing about you beyond that request.
Turning cookies off
Every browser lets you block or delete cookies, usually under Settings, then Privacy. You can browse this site with cookies blocked and read everything on it. The appointment form, however, needs the security cookie described above in order to submit — with cookies blocked it will refuse the submission rather than send it insecurely.
Clearing your browser's site data will also clear the stored notice preference, and the welcome notice will appear once more.
Changes to this policy
If we add anything that stores information in your browser, we will describe it here before it goes live, and update the date at the top of this page.
